Our Story

Grace Community Bible Church is a family of believers committed to reaching the lost and developing mature disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. All are welcome to attend our Sunday School and Worship services which have a strong emphasis on studying the Scriptures in order that the hearers of the Word of God may grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and obedience to His Word.

Grace Community Church at Anderson Mill began in 1974 as a Bible study, meeting in the homes of James and Barbara Owen and John and Phyllis Tucker. As it grew, they decided to incorporate as a church on July 26, 1974. Jim and Barbara, along with John and Phyllis, were the initial Board of Directors. From its inception, Grace Community Church has called itself a Bible Church, believing the Bible to be the Holy, inspired, infallible, authoritative word of God.

James A. Owen was ordained as an elder and pastor of the new congregation.  A five acre tract of land was purchased in the Anderson Mill subdivision (our current location).  Pastor Owen became the full time pastor of GCC for approximately six years.  In 1981, Pastor Owen resigned and he and his family returned to their hometown of Phoenix, AZ.

In June 1982, Gary Birt became our new pastor.  Pastor Birt passed away unexpectedly in July 1989.

Pastor John A. Eastman began serving in April of 1990 and remained in this position until retiring in October, 2014.  We are grateful for his 25 years of faithful service.

In October 2014, Michael McGrath was installed as our new pastor.  Pastor McGrath served until June of 2021 when he and his family transitioned to plant a new church.

In August of 2015, Henry Anderson and his wife, Allie, began serving at Grace Community Bible Church. After graduating from the The Master's Seminary, Henry was called to be a pastor in the church in May of 2019, where he continues to serve to this day.
